Please excuse this question if it is really basic, but can anyone tell me if SMS messages have headers attached to them, the same way that an email does. I am currently using a CelleBrite UFED Touch Ultimate and could only obtain a Logical image of the Samsung phone.
Several of the messages have been forwarded, which is obvious from the conversation between the parties, but is there anything that will tell me if the message was forwarded and if at all possible, where the message was forwarded from.
Any help or explanation would be appreciated.
SMS Messages contain a wealth of information beyond the 'user visible' which is analogous to headers in e-mail, but not quite the same thing.
Unfortunately, there is no field for explicitly storing any forwarding-type information as you would see with an e-mail header.
Just for fun, the full list of what is available and how it is stored can be found at
It's well worth taking some time to digest the documentation as it lists all the available information in SMS.
